Wooden stretchers

Our stretchers are made from air-dried glued laminated wood from sustainably managed forests in France or, more rarely, northern Europe (10/12% humidity). Main species: pine and fir. In order to manage warping, residual defects in the wood are eliminated and the resulting pieces are assembled (finger-jointed + vinyl glue).
The timber is cut on a moulder to ⅒ mm of precision and is stored for several months before use. Corners are mitred or square cut using wooden or metal dowels, which automatically squares the stretcher.

Our stretchers are assembled in the workshop and are sanded. Assemblies are numbered (in the order of assembly), if necessary.
